A mayor of rebellion?

The City of Cincinnati was once the home of intelligent Statesmen and honorable institutions- however in recent years, the degradation of her soul is apparent.

Cities throughout the Nation are exerting a resistance against the Federal Government in more ways than one. In terms of immigration, the question of legality is raised. The Constitution itself is a legal document signed by every State in the Union to which their Municipal Governments are required to comply. The influence of Constitutional authority vs. State authority is in constant battle, a tiresome battle which summons a perseverance and self awareness within a devoted Citizen to dedicate his energy and time to the welfare of his fellow Countrymen and the progression of his Nation.

As a Union, we must always seek to acquiesce. Certainly, the Citizens of the 21st Century do not wish for the dissolution of our common destiny due to indifferences of ideology. Yet, with the hard fought 2024 Election and Inauguration of 47th President, Donald J. Trump, an ideology of defiance and rebellion is once again forging within the furnace of Treason that is, the Democratic Party. From the bloody Civil War, through the Jim Crow era, through the corruption of the Biden-Harris Administration, those of the Democratic Party wield their power against the peace, safety, and progression of their own Nation. The pages of our History tell many moments of when Democratic State officials refused to comply with the will of a Republican Electorate, Congress, and President. Many Presidents, regardless of Party, have exercised action within the sphere of their authority to impose the supremacy of the Constitution, for example; Washington, Lincoln, Eisenhower, Kennedy.

Now we come to the point of this column. The Mayor of Cincinnati, Aftab Pureval, along with the Hamilton County Sheriff, Charmaine McGuffey, have instructed Law Enforcement to deny service or aide to the Federal Immigration Agents of ICE when arresting or searching for undocumented immigrants. This all comes in refusal to comply with Executive Order 14165 “Securing Our Borders”- signed by the President on Inauguration Day:

Sec. 2 . Policy. It is the policy of the United States to take all appropriate action to secure the borders of our Nation through the following means:

(a) Establishing a physical wall and other barriers monitored and supported by adequate personnel and technology;

(b) Deterring and preventing the entry of illegal aliens into the United States;

(c) Detaining, to the maximum extent authorized by law, aliens apprehended on suspicion of violating Federal or State law, until such time as they are removed from the United States;

(d) Removing promptly all aliens who enter or remain in violation of Federal law;

(e) Pursuing criminal charges against illegal aliens who violate the immigration laws, and against those who facilitate their unlawful presence in the United States;(f) Cooperating fully with State and local law enforcement officials in enacting Federal-State partnerships to enforce Federal immigration priorities; and

(g) Obtaining complete operational control of the borders of the United States.

Is the Democratic Party, once again, weaponizing itself to resist the Constitution, Federal Law, and the Presidency? It seems so. The coordinated effort to obstruct Federal processes, to disregard the Vote of the People, and to stand against the President of the United States, is reminiscent of the Civil War. I submit a notion of caution to those who believe their self interest takes priority, for History has proven, the President is equipped with the Constitutional Authority to assert the Supremacy of the Constitution and the People.
